It has to be said that some people's purpose in life has nothing to do with musicianship. However, Charlie Peacock has not only proved himself a worthy musician but all aspects of his life shine with a luminous faith. 'Love Life' contains tracks such as "After Lovin' You", a multi-layered track as far as rhythms go ~ with rock and funky sail fused together to produce a unique sound which still remains Nightly danceable. Alternatively, on "There Was Love", that compatriot of Charlie's for the last six or so years, Vince Ebo adds Ns spectacular talents towards the end of the song. Consequently, what begins as a gentle rock ballad progresses to highly atmospherical black gospel. In complete contrast, "When I Stand With You" is a gentle worship track though with an instrumental passage which sounds a long way from Songs of Fellowship! All of these, funnily enough, cover the immensely wide topic of love. Don't think for a second however, that the songs are mushy mindless drivel or substituting lust for love. Charlie is able to take a theme like physical passion ("Kiss Me Like A Woman") and write in such a way that Christians would be in agreement with him, yet non-Christians would not feel 'preached at'. My favourite track is "In The Light". This one induces some serious foot tapping with it's effective samba beats. I played this song so many times and will no doubt be driving my neighbours insane in the future! What's more, it blessed the socks off me in the process. It's a positively gorgeous song! It's hard to believe that Charlie could better his previous excellent album 'The Secret Of Time' but 'Love Life', produced by Charlie and Rick Will, contradicts this assumption to prove that all good things do come from God.
