Charlotte is a worship leader at Norwich Vineyard and turns in an independent album which is considerably less stylised than if it had come through Vineyard Music but is also rougher around the edges. Its best moments on this 10 (nine self-penned) songs, like the minimalistic “Sweet Mercies” with some inventive stop-start programming and the wistfully ethereal “Until I Find You” opener, work well. But other times the arrangements like the overbearing blues rock guitar on “One More Step” tend to drown Charlotte’s gentle, poignant vocals. Still, an interesting debut by a young lady with considerable potential.
