This current wave of American worship in response to Delirious? proving everyone wrong, and selling their worship albums by the shed full, only smacks of jumping on the band wagon. However Cheri Keaggy's music has always had a slant towards worship as she was a worship leader in her church before she ever made any recordings. It's telling that amidst Nashville's current fad for all things worshippy, this album is marketed as "the worship songs of Cheri Keaggy" - wonder what the material on the previous albums was? Never mind! It features polished pop performances, a band consisting of the usual musos from Nashville's bank of sessioners, plus a pile of vocalists who grace loads of worship albums made in Johnny Cashville (the usual suspects - Lenny Leblanc, Lisa Bevill, Gary Sadler, etc). There's no doubt that this is professionally put together but somehow, amongst the slickness, some of this feels a little overproduced for British ears, and it's easy to lose sight of the heart of worship in the glittering sheen. All very nice and all that, but ultimately unsatisfying, and I am left unmoved.

I must add that most of these songs were quite superb at first hearing in their original format on previous recordings of Cheri. Glory Be from last release & In Remembrance Of Me from 2nd cd were spirit reviving songs. I strongly recommend you buy her first 3 releases before listening to this one.
Cheri nailed these songs at their first go. God bless,Don

Yes, I agree that the mark of worship songs has been missed; "In Remembrance of ME" could have been a top notch worship song and others also.
I am disappointed that these songs do not come across as what the title suggests; however it sounds like a great ccm cd.
I like "YOU, Oh LORD are my Refuge" & "Heavenly
Father"; "Pour Out YOUR Love" is commendable.
Cheri possesses great songwriting skills, but in the final process, somehow a rightful delivery is missed.
GOD Bless! - Don
