Or to be more precise, modern gospel from Nigeria, as that's where Chidinma hails from. According to the CD booklet, Chidinma is a Lagos-born preacher's daughter who started singing in her dad's church at the age of six, and hasn't looked back since. In her career, she's lent her talents to political campaigns (writing and recording a song for ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo when he ran for office in 2003), and to advertising sports tournaments (composing the theme tune for Nigerian TVs coverage of the 2003 World Youth Football championships). Here she teams up with the Voice Of Vision band and singers for 10 tracks of pleasant-but-not-necessarily-earth-shattering gospel music, sung in Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo and English.
