The Minnesota-based group's first two albums had a bit of old school punk about them but this latest set, produced by Travis Wyrick, takes them into a more polished sound nearer to the Foo Fighters than The Clash. Existing fans may not like the change but this more radio-friendly approach is likely to bear dividends. "We'll Never Say Goodbye" has Lee-Marie singing along with the punk clashing guitar riffs but then comes along the absurdly catchy chorus. The song barely slows down until the bridge that allows for a big building arrangement for the last chorus. On the song "Always On The Run" they change to a distinct melodic pop sound which could have been a risk but it works as by the end it becomes like an anthem as the drums and guitars kick it up a notch and amp up the song. They go back to punk with the song "I Tried To Do The Right Thing" that has intelligent lyrics with "But every winter melts into a spring/And every break would mend if you just use the proper sling/I tried to do the right thing" in the main chorus that allows for the song to be consumed thanks to those tasty guitar riffs.

Product Description
After playing nearly 150 shows per year for the past several years, Children 18:3 is showing no signs of slowing down whatsoever. They've continued to hit the road in support of 2010's Rain's A Comin', playing not only in the United States but across Europe as well. In the midst of this busyness and travelling, they've managed to write their third full-length record On The Run.

Aptly named, On The Run is the perfect display of Children's determination and joy that they show in their career. The two brothers and sister have managed to create a fresh sound with this record, complete with punk hooks and soaring melodies.
