Hailing from Minnesota, this sibling punk group makes for an interesting visual and aural experience. Guitarist/vocalist David Hostetter Jr looks like a cross between Alice Cooper and The Misfits but often sounds more like Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. Drummer Seth has the appearance of a hardcore kid, while bassist/vocalist LeeMarie goes for a more glam look as she switches vocal styles between sugary pop princess and melodic riot grrrl. Cross Rhythms' own Tony Cummings described their sound as "crunching punk rock with its echoes of old school anarchy ala The Clash", but they have enough pop sensibility to realise a mainstream acceptance. Clever musicianship, glorious harmonies and sensitive, intelligent lyrics abound in this promising debut. "You Know We're All So Fond Of Dying" and "Homemade Valentine" are among the most immediate and singable songs, while "The City" and "Even Sleeping" display the band's ska roots. A band who could be destined for bigger stages.
