The Choir of Bedstone College has not got the long tradition that many other college choirs have, but nonetheless they have acquitted themselves well on this recording of hymns by composers as varied as Bach to Vaughan Williams. A few rough edges appear in tracks like "Adam Lay Ybounden" (Ord) where the intonation goes slightly amiss, and musical interpretation on Elgar's "Ave Verum" is unsophisticated and leaves you feeling "Yes, but...". On a technical level, the recording levels were low - possibly a fault in the copy stage, but on tape the resulting hiss does make you think twice about listening to the album again. One thing that impressed me about 'O Worship the Lord' was the range and quality of the pieces that have been chosen which make this recording accessible to anyone.
