21 year old Chris sets sail in the ccm field with this top notch debut full of songs that would become synonmous with contemporary christian music.
Side 1 includes "Why Does the Devil Have All the Good Music", "Mountain Top" (which would debut on Amy Grant's first album 1 year later), I just love "Hallelujah" (recorded by B.J. Thomas about the same time of Chris' debut). "Odessa Beggarman '74"
features Dogwood on bgvs, this is a great song for
ccm, love the bridge.
Side 2 begins the popular "Get Back to The Bible",
a song needed in today's world, too many debating
over the words that have survived for centuries.
"Great Great Joy" follows, a simple song of faith that
speaks, and a favorite. I love the guitar licks on the
closing # "I Don't Deserve".
The album opens up to a nice size sketch of Chris by well known artist Dennis Hill.
BTW Happy 59 Birthday Chris (Feb.7), hats off to one of our greatest ccm vets. God bless, Don
