Brentwood Music have built a mini-music empire with this kind of 'artist-less' album where anonymous country session musicians pick polite versions of well known hymns and spirituals so clearly there's a big US nostalgia market for such items, big enough for Word Inc to wade in with this pleasant but woefully unoriginal album. Banjo, fiddle and mandolin combine if not to create a "tapestry of mountain music" promised in the sleeve at least a reasonable evocation of the music of the old Brush Arbor. So if you want "Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden", "I Saw The Light" and nine more picked hoedown style, you may want this.
