Considering his large US following, I came to this expecting it to be pretty good. Clay has been through some rather tough times lately and he refers to this in the sleevenotes where he recounts how he fell away and was restored back to faith. You'd expect, then, that the music should display some of that pain and passion - and one of the tracks, "98", is indeed a testimony of his time of healing. But the album as a whole is just too bland for my taste. Some of the lyrics hint at a real depth, but most of the time the music simply trips along in standard American CCM rock/pop mode, and to be honest I can't recall any songs that really stand out. This isn't a bad album - maybe I'm being over-harsh, possibly due to unfulfilled expectations - and, of course, the production and musicianship is well up to scratch, as you'd expect from the slick backroom team. But I wouldn't go out and buy it for myself - one for the Clay Crosse fans only, I'd say.

I have this cd by Clay;a Christmas cd for 2002 would be his final recording to date (as far as I know). I love the song "Arms of JESUS"; it has that familiar Clay Crosse sound: who cannot relate to the words.
The upbeat of "Til the End of the World" is such a great dynamic song!; great ccm music here, great bgv's also. If you read the liner notes, you will note that Clay went thru a rededication; boy, how many of them we need to go thru in life! The lyrics to "What Would you do for a King? really grab the listener; kudos to writer Bill Canto. Well known ccm songwriter
Dwight Liles (wrote songs for Steve Archer); co-wrote
the sensational "Be the Word"; another great song!
"Sinner's Prayer" is a song with great music;the cd title is from this song. When we do wrong,we each have our own prayer; this song is obviously Clay's.
"Walk With Me" has that nice pop style; a song for his wife. "More Like YOU" finishes the cd list; this is one of the few songs that still remind you of that
well known Clay Crosse sound, heard in previous cd
recordings. I love this song! I have yet to hear any of these songs play on ccm radio. GOD Bless! - Don
ps. ANYONE KNOW WHAT CLAY HAS BEEN UP TO THE LAST 10 YEARS!
