The tape opens with a rip-roaring footstomper "Make A Joyful Noise" giving notice of a fiery brand of black gospel based pop. The other side of the man's music follows right away with a silky-smooth version of a pleasant ballad "When I Pray". Davis combines a flexible vocal style with the ability to communicate the emotional content of a song. Pleasing versions of "Blessed Assurance" and "Jesus Paid It All" blend nicely with contemporary material such as Davis' own compositions "Victory In My Eyes" and "This Time". Nothing particularly remarkable on offer here, but good, workmanlike performances throughout.
