This is the debut gospel release from ex-SWV singer Cheryl 'Coko'
Clemons. Having been a member of the Hezekiah Walker's Love Fellowship Tabernacle Choir before joining R&B hitmakers SWV in the '90s, gospel music is a familiar territory for Coko and it shows. The first thing that strikes you when listening through the album is the passion that Coko has put into the performances of these songs. On up-tempo songs like "Clap Your Hands" she is bursting with such happiness and thankfulness that it's hard not to be dragged in with her. On the track "Endow Me" (with the vocal help of big name guests Fantasia, Faith Evans and Lil' Mo) the melody is dripping with the kind of hunger and longing that invites you to echo every word that is sung. With such powerful singing and solid song arrangements this is a definite must-have CD for anyone who enjoys quality contemporary gospel music.
