Here's a weird one! Mr Price looks like Hank Marvin and as part of the Shadows style tribute band The Rapiers, plays guitar in a '60s fashion. Now here's an unusual concept, a selection of hymns interpreted and arranged in true pre-Beatles '60s style. Twangy guitars and deliberately '60s hi-fi production sound are extremely well-observed and there's something wonderfully left field about the whole concept that appeals to my warpedness! My favourites include the surf -style version of "I Believe" and "Praise My Soul" which borrows heavily from The Searchers' "Needles And Pins". But the piece de resistance is "The Old Rugged Cross". If I had a tenner for every time I had to listen to yet another version of that hoary classic, I would have retired to the Riviera long ago! However nothing compares with Colin V Price's version! Joe Meek will be smiling in his grave! Imagine "The Old Rugged Cross" meets "Telstar" and you have it! 'Guitar Heaven'? I think so!

This CD by this great Guitarist Colin V.Pryce Jones is just brilliant how he has made each track of religious songs sound as though they've come from the sixties and groups of the time is just brilliant keep it up Colin can't wait to see you and the Rapiers soon God bless Nigel.
