Cornerstone Church in Johnson City is blessed with some anointed worship, led by pastors Dr Barry and Rev Ann Burns. This offering opens with "Holding Nothing Back" and an all-guns-blazing electric guitar salvo, with robust drums rocking throughout. The song cleverly weaves new lyrics ("I am chosen, I am free, living for eternity/Free to live, free to give, free to be and free to love you Lord") with those of "Amazing Grace" in a lively new rhythm. "Holy" carries a strong keys line supporting Ann Burns' vibrant vocal lead; and a sensitive rendering of the Bethel favourite "One Thing Remains" is punctuated by McClure Boyd's drumming. Music director Beverly Myers' "Perfect Love" breathes worship, with a chorus of "hallelujah, amen" and a melody line with a tiny nod to Leonard Cohen. Tom Lockley's "See His Love" balances John McLean's electric guitar with Boyd's drums in a compelling cover. This is a well-produced selection of worship numbers.
