Working in a folky idiom, this is an album for anyone who longs to find songs that are totally Christian in content without all that coding and metaphorical stuff. Okay, so it sounds old fashioned and reminiscent of '70's Christian music both stylistically and lyrically but then this rootsy style never really goes out of fashion! Occasionally reminding me of Don Francisco when he's not singing story songs, Craig is an effective songwriter and despite the low budget has produced a bright album. He's also a bit of a musical genius since all the guitars, keyboards, drums, bass and most of the vocals are his! Nice harmonies in places. This is an eclectic mix because you get straight forward folky stuff on "Redeem The Time", "First Day Of The Week" and then there's a genuine yeehaw country chune "Leavin' Here" which will have you slapping your thigh in no time! Surprise must be "Prelude To Rapture" which is a classical composition played on a variety of string synths! My favourite is probably the poppier title tune which reminded me of Geordie songwriter Roly Johnson. Obviously talented Craig Miller's album has much to commend if you enjoy straightforward lyrics and rootsy sounds.
