OZ ROCK! YEAH! This Melbourne-based four piece band serve up some intense rock music and clearly know their business. Heavy grooves and crunching guitar licks mix with plenty of melody to create a versatile blend that hits the mark. The energetic "Super Nova" springs out of the speakers while the opening assault of "I.D." is a little more ponderous. Unfortunately at times this strays dangerously close to AOR on "Dead Man" but is saved by "BBM" and "Immunity" grinding things back to normal. Australian rock has always been a little isolated creating a sound unique to its culture and it's rare for an Oz band to make sense here. While all of this is all well and good, it just seems a little old fashioned with not enough going on to capture my attention.
