I must confess that whilst Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent are the hottest new act in bluegrass, faced with this project I felt necessary to admit at the outset that I have never been a real fan of the Statler Brothers. I think this is more of a country album than bluegrass as we don't get the usual instrumental breaks associated with pure bluegrass. Having said that, I must affirm that the duo's technique demonstrated here is first class. Dailey & Vincent have selected many of the Statler's best known songs including "Flowers On The Wall", "Class Of '57" and "Hello Mary Lou, Goodbye Heart" to name but three of the 12 tracks. Dailey & Vincent have also selected some lesser known material such as the very catchy gospel song "The Brave Apostles Twelve". But the standout track for me is the duo's fantastic version of "I'll Go To My Grave Lovin' You". The whole album is a musical delight from start to finish.
