Wonder why practitioners of this genre have the habit of referring to 20-strong ensembles as a mass choir? Perhaps they are Catholics. Never mind, these good folk have so much energy and dynamite maybe we couldn't cope with more of 'em. On "I'm Sold Out" and "I Will Bless The Lord", Rev Armond Brown stands out as a powerful, soul-soaked soloist. Also, his efforts on the sleeve notes to make spiritual significance from the fact this is the choir's third album are unintentionally very funny. Tell you what though, the whole range of soloists on display are devastating. With the choir whooping and hollering in the background, this is a cracker of an album. Just hear them tear into "God's Got A Way Out" for an object lesson in what this music's all about. More roughage than the usual Malaco smoothness.
