This is the first release from Canadian worship leader Dan Macaulay. It features 10 original tracks, one Redman/Tomlin cover ("Wonderful Maker") and two 'interludes', making up a 52 minute disc of reasonable songs of worship. Dan's voice is strong (with a hint of Michael W Smith to it), and he leads from piano/keyboards which brings a welcome change in sound from other guitar-led releases. The majority of songs here are catchy and easy to sing along to, while the production is occasionally cheesy but is always clear and uncluttered. Dan's voice rises above the band and the backing vocals are simple (although they would perhaps sound fuller with some harmonies added). Dan's lyrics are resolutely God focussed - passionate, inspiring and honest. Some are personal, (title track "Captured Again"), while others are more suited to congregational worship. By far the most commendable part of this package is the interactive element, which contains bonus MP3s and chord charts (in different keys). This sensible and useful addition adds a square to the rating.
