There is something very endearing about 'I Will Go On'. There is simplicity to the music, yet an intricacy in the delivery that leaves the listener unable to do anything but to become engrossed in it. Brooks' soulful voice expounds personal experience, pride and gratitude for the important people and experiences of life in a very intimate way. The fact that a number of members of his immediate family also feature as musicians on the album makes it all that more special. Brooks writes of the many questions that he has sought answers to in life, and shares with the listener some of the answers that he received or was able to deduce. Songs of particular note include "I Will Go On" and "I Am Free." If you're looking for country-orientated worship this is worth searching out.

My writing is rooted in authentic finger and flat-picking style guitar, and lyrics that reflect a transparent faith experience. Songs on this CD range from those that tell stories of real people, others with a blues-rock feel and still others are inspiring Christian ballads. I think you will find my sound similar to that of Mark Heard, John Michael Talbot, Fernando Ortega and Bob Bennett. -- Dan
