Dan is a singer/songwriter from Reading who is currently planning to release a new EP this spring. So a review of this full-length album, released in 2014, is long overdue. I'm sorry that I have to report that 'Bring The Fire', despite all the commendable forthrightness of the sentiments expressed in some of his songs (for example track five "Father God (Hosanna)" contains the line "I want to see revival in this place") this is a weak album. The production is almost non-existent with the guitar, bass and drums accompaniments barely demo-quality. Dan sings reasonably well and he clearly has a heart for worship. But lyrics like those heard on "Joyful Noise" ("I will praise you/I will thank you/I will bless your holy name") and several other songs here are way too clichéd. No doubt Dan is a godly young man who is being used by the Lord around Reading. But if his ministry is to impact churchgoers further afield he will need to craft better lyrics and bring in more musicians for his next recorded effort.

A big thank you for taking the time to review this. I take the honest comments on board, as these are often hard to come by in nice Christian circles. This album was a bit of an experiment and included some material I perhaps now would not have included. Again thanks for taking a listen,
