A useful debut on the Alliance label for this up-and-coming singer/songwriter from the Sussex Bible belt. A full album has now been released but here Dan has been showcased on a four-track EP expertly produced by Cathy Burton, who also sings backing vocals. As well as Cathy, the others supporting Dan on the guitars and vocals are also not short on talent - Callum Rees (drums), Mark Prentice (bass), Steve Harding (piano) and Phil Loose (keys and accordion). All in all a pleasant, mellow sound but also one that maybe started sounding "samey" by the end of the fourth track. It will be interesting to see what sort of musical variety Dan puts into his debut album.
