I'd better begin by explaining that Daniel Kutschera isn't the vocalist on this EP. Providing the vocals here is John Wright (whose had his own EPs 'Careless Dreams', 2003, and 'Harvest Sky', 2004) with a little help from Carla Ellington on "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". What Daniel has done is take six lyrics from old hymns and recast them with his own contemporary melodies. He then took them to Lincoln's famed dB Studios where producer Dan Bowater came up with snappy, expertly executed arrangements. Keys play a huge part on the record and this, intertwined with bluesy guitar parts, is what gives the EP its foot tapping and energetic feel. The infectious keyboard elements on hymns "Enjoying A Full Salvation" (originally composed by A F Myers in the 19th century) and "Grace" (originally composed by Tom Jones, 1891-1978) are played by Howard Williams and Daniel himself. A good contrast is evident between songs and with Wright's smoothly melodic vocals and those deft arrangements this is a surprisingly successful venture from the gifted Mr Kutschera.
