One of the bands which featured on the now legendary 'Hamster Tracks' compilation from Hull. Here we have Dark Horses, who make enough different moves on this six-track offering to leave you wondering what they would be like if they were produced by a major label. Certainly there's some interesting material here and some good ideas. "Better Than Rock 'n' Roll" is a great title for a song, it's just a pity that the lead vocal doesn't quite carry the necessary confidence. "Alleluia Anyway" is DH's contribution to the songs-which-typify-our-lives-today approach, great throwaway chorus. But this album also includes a quite superb, anthemnic, vocal harmony praise song "Give It To Jesus" - worth your time. Creditable effort guys 'n' gals, keep it up.
