Daryl Coley is another one of those artists who turned his back on a secular musical career to devote his talents to the Lord. The rest, as they say, is history. This album is a re-release of his 1985 debut album and Daryl's various musical influences are evident here. The Prince-sounding "Closer" opens up the album on a suitably high note and this song contrasts nicely with the jazzier "Caught Up" and the more trad gospel "Stand Still". There's also some bonus tracks on here too, dating from the mid '90s and created as a result of Daryl's partnership with Paul Wright. One of these is a version of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" featuring nothing other than Daryl's voice and is yet another indication of his talents. Overall, a great way to mark Daryl's return after a period of illness and a good introduction if you've not heard him before.
