This is tub-thumping gospel angst of the highest order - rich in praise, rich in entreaty - and baring its soul wth every unfolding story. Conversion, revelation, Bible truth, the second coming, it's all there, delivered with mood-altering guitar, bass and keyboards that will get you out of your chair into the aisles within a few bars. Thankfully, 'Oh, The Lamb' is not a slick album, it simply oozes "first take" life and energy, while Daryl Coley steers us assuredly through a surprisingly diverse set of uncompromising songs, urged on by an appreciative audience. Beloved themselves are a wall of joy, a choir of sheer zest and passion in perfect conversation with its vocal leads, rising and falling with every exhortation and reflection. The Coley-penned "Exchanged" had me in tears. This is very contemporary gospel. It's live and it never lets up. It is an exhausting listen for all the best reasons.
