Kid's worship has come a long way in the 30 years or so since I left Sunday School! Not that the word "worship" would have been mentioned as we sang through "Jesus Loves Me" and "H-A-P-P-Y". Now it's all about up tempo music, with a pop rock backing and a lot of fun. And this CD has all the ingredients by the bucketload. The latest release in an acclaimed list from Godfrey varies from kid to adult vocals. There are Scripture songs "John 3 v 16" and "Christ Is Risen", mixed with humour aimed straight at the target audience as in "Cheese" and the countrified "The Sat Nav Song". There are plenty of actions available with an abundance of jumping about. The finale football chant "United" could easily have been lifted from Ishmael United's 'If You Can't Shout Saved.' Musical backing is provided by members of Yfriday, with plenty of chunky guitar. And with Ainsley the parrot on hand to interact with Godfrey, it's a winning combination. And sheet music and PDFs make it a useful resource too!
