Another slab of grassroots praise and worship, recorded live at the New Life Centre in Lincoln, produced and mixed by Daniel Bowater at dB Studios. And if you know anything at all about praise music, those few details may give you a few clues as to the quality of this album. I heard and saw Dave at Grapevine 2000. was blessed to bits by his music, and can unreservedly recommend this CD. Dave sounds at time's like Noel Richards on the uptempo songs, on the slower ones he's rather like Chris Bowater, but he concedes nothing in the songwriting stakes to either of those veterans. Every song is a good 'un. The band and singers, including Dave's daughter Hannah, give 100 per cent, and the highlight for me is, "Wounds Of Love", as Dave meditates on the cross of Jesus: "Fixed by cruel nails, pierced by spear and thorn/It's beyond my reason how love could hang there bleeding/Let me kiss the wounds of love/My heart is torn and open wide, in seeing you my Lord crucified." Sheer, anointed poetry.
