The thing about this kind of praise and worship music is that it all sounds the same. And although songs on this album are self-penned, they tend to sound very much like something else. Familiarity doesn't quite go so far as breeding contempt as there's quite a bit to enjoy on this tape. The string arrangements add a delicate touch to the proceedings, especially on the beautiful "One Thing I Ask". On the title track, our Dave hits a bit of a Steven Curtis Chapman acoustic guitar vibe which gently grooves but you wouldn't be arrested for disturbing the peace if you played it loudly, even with his rocking guitar at the end! Vocally, David Canning is passionate but doesn't always hit the mark. The album is well-produced and will appeal to fans of simple, straight forward easy listening praise and worship music. Good for a Sunday morning service!
