As anybody who's read the Cross Rhythms article will know, David Clifton is one of the most gifted and respected musicians on the whole UK scene. His guitar and mandolin have been heard on countless albums. Now at last we've a chance to hear a selection of his songs, some clearly written for congregational worship, others not so. It's an excellent mix with many of David's songs, warmly sung by their composer, challenging us to walk on with God because of Jesus' example in "What Jesus Would Have Done" then others declare faith "I Believe" written with a country rhythm, while "Ever Faithful God" prayerfully lifts us to reach out to our Father God. The songs are easy to listen to and come to mind easily. With a deft organic production from Julian Kindred this is an album that will aid your devotions or make for enjoyable, relaxing listening.

What a great album! I have to say that I think "pop" is a rather misplaced label - David Clifton rocks! This record is full of great tunes, thoughtful lyrics ranging from settings of psalms and ancient prayers of the church to great modern lyrics, all so relevant today.

There are songs here that should be lifting the roofs off churches for years to come.

I was a little disappointed that Dave decided for this album to do a cover of 'What Jesus Would Have Done' from 'Shipwrecks & Islands'. I have to say that Mal Pope's version on the original 1999 album knocks Dave's for six.

If you were to take a look at the credits, you would notice that it was David who wrote 'What Jesus Would Have Done' .

Hello Jim, If you had clicked on the interview that Tony Cummings did with David, you would see that the reason David included 'What Jesus Would Have Done' was because " Noel Richards . . . and Mal Pope . . . never quite recorded it in the way he heard it in his head when he wrote it", but, of course, we all have our own preferences. I prefer David's version.
