Proving that niceness goes a long way this talented singer/songwriter from Dumfries delivers a well crafted amalgamation of easy sounding pop, folky acoustics, smooth soul and a little jazz that is pleasantly above average. The album shines best when it captures an intimacy reflected in the title, particularly in the classy soul recordings and the live, acoustic 'Father's Eyes' proving a standout track. An amiable and perfectly worthy singer displays a fine showcase of songs that work best in the quieter moments. Nothing too shocking here but certainly worthwhile for those who like their songs of faith straight with few thrills.

David you performed in Culloden Academy in Inverness many many years ago, I bought the cassette of fathers eyes such a touching song. You are such a talented man, you deserve all the credit you receive.

I came to see your concert years ago in a church in Kirkfieldbank, lanark. I wasn't a Christian when I bought your CD - look in the mirror. I am still not a Christian but just wanted you to know that I was really touched that night. x
