Why do record companies do this to me? I'm referring to the meaningless release of another 'Greatest Hits' package less than two years after the excellent 'Destined To Win: Classic Collection' by Degarmo & Key. But then when you consider how many 'Best Of releases Petra and White Heart have currently, I suppose it's no surprise to see D&K release their fourth compilation. Sure, there's some classic tracks on this compilation of good AOR songs with powerful guitar licks and vocals by Dana Key and keyboards by Eddie Degarmo, but the only thing which makes this album distinctive is an acoustic medley of three famous D&K songs: "Long Distance Runner", "Rock Solid" and "Six, Six, Six". You also get a brief history of the lads' musical accomplishments over the last 20 years (even though their first album appeared in 1977!). There are four tracks from their 70s albums and virtually nothing after 1989. Even the cover makes this look to the neutral more like a rave album. Sorry to be so negative about one of my favourite AOR bands who have recorded some brilliant songs. But regarding the concept, timing, selection of songs and packaging of this album...l am very disappointed. Save your money...go out and buy the previously mentioned 'Destined To Win' CD and video instead.
