This cleverly named Midlands quintet sit somewhere between Underoath and Kutless on the musical spectrum though without the American groups' hype or budgets. Talent abounds in the four songs on offer here, not least in Steve Williams' powerfully passionate vocals. Clearly comfortable when singing, his raw screaming stands alongside the best in the genre, although the production fails to push it to the fore. The band slip competently between time signatures in each of the songs and combine melodic leads and harmonies with solid driving rhythms. Lyrically the themes are of the struggles of life as a Christian, but with more obvious references to God than some of their contemporise. Lines such as "Standing on the promises of God", and "My Jesus here within my heart" show a band proud of their faith and willing to proclaim it to the world. "We Are On Fire" is the standout track, but the others are not far behind it. The songs are varied enough to keep your interest, but something completely different would have shown more versatility. The production is also a bit muffled but adequate for a band at this level. DINWH may just be the British challenger to the American domination of Christian hardcore.
