The songs on the album have been described by the artist as "songs of healing and hope" which is certainly true and as well as the accompanying lyrics, there are also more words of encouragement within the acknowledgements. Musically, Hull-based singer/songwriter Simpson clearly has a distinctive vocal and writing style and appears confident within it. The album contains both sombre and upbeat songs, beginning with the more subdued "Set Me Free", which features strong vocals and piano accompaniment. As it plays through the album takes a more vibrant turn, with a few exceptions, joyful songs such as "The Other Side Of The Rainbow" compared to "Set Me Free" demonstrate the breadth of Simpson's writing ability as well as her feelings on the subject matter of the songs. Overall the album is very easy to listen to and promotes optimistic and positive messages.
