Debi Selby lives in Franklin, Tennessee and was heard on the Jim Martinez jazz praise album reviewed a few issues ago, while her husband Andy has programmed for Nicole C Mullen and a whole heap of top Nashville talent. Some of that talent - Anointed's Nee-C Walls and the Katinas' John Katina guest on this album. Yet despite all the classy pedegree and the fact that Debi has bags of vocal talent able to handle black gospel sounding praise (Babbie Mason's "Show Some Sign"), acoustic ("That's Where My Heart Is Too") and anthemic inspirational balladry (the self-penned "The Cross Before Me") this listener at least remained unengaged. Maybe the lack of stylistic focus is what pulled it back, maybe it simply needed more memorable songs. So despite one memorable track, the funky R&B "I Can Show You Love", this album exudes competence but nothing more.
