I picked up this album and I was worried. The soft focus cover shot made me worry, the hyped intro to this live album where the MC invites us to welcome this anointed singer made me worry. Even the fact that keyboardist/producer David Crawford wrote all the songs made me worry. But then the music started and Debra sang and I felt mild relief! This is good old fashioned gospel, occasional nice modern touches but none of those urban grooves to clutter up the message. A small choir provides suitable backing but it's Debra to the fore. However, her voice is better suited on the up tempo numbers like "Saved". "He'll Wipe All Your Tears Away" than the ballads like "Vessel Of Honour" and the title tune. The lyrics are all pretty direct message wise but unfortunately they are also weighed down by too many cliched themes for them to stand out. This is all pretty competent and it must be nice lo have Debra as featured singer in church every Sunday but on CD, it falls flat.
