If you didn't already know, Denver Bierman and his sassy bunch of musos have brought the rollicking, feel good sound of big band jazz to the CCM arena. Their 'Good To Go' album was a delightful example of what they do best. Whether this Yuletide offering works as well really depends on your tolerance level to songs like "Jingle Bells", "Frosty The Snowman" (though here he's been transformed into a Bluesman) and "Let It Snow". Personally, I feel a lot of the effect is lost on the Santa songs but some tracks here sound perilously close to the kind of Christmas muzak piped out each year in our department stores. But no one can doubt the prowess of the Mile High Orchestra with plenty of crisp ensemble work and one or two tasty solos. And I quite enjoyed the jazz-funk rendition of "Little Drummer Boy" complete with "Shaft"-style wah wah guitar.

Product Description
Denver and the Mile High Orchestra bring their unique and energetic big band sound to the fresh new arrangements of timeless Christmas classics, sure to bring the aroma of pine, and thoughts of decorating Christmas trees.

Classic songs like Sleigh Ride will instantly bring a chill to the nose, bringing memories of that special ride taken through the snow. The powerful Denver and the Mile High Orchestra horn section bring new life to Jingle Bells making the mouth water for a candy cane as the Christmas tree is decorated. Bandleader and lead vocalist, Denver Bierman, penned what is sure to become a classic, Born Tonight, which makes one think they were in the stable looking down in amazement on the Christ Child Himself.
