It was Franz Josef Haydn who's been credited with the creation of the string quartet and now that evangelical America have belatedly discovered the delights of classical music it was only a matter of time before two violins, a viola and a cello came to be heard running through some of the Church's hymnody. Very nice it is too, David Davidson, Chris Teal, Kris Wilkinson and John Catchings turning in very pleasant renditions of anthems like "Gloria In Excelsis" and "God So Loved The World". Catchings will be known as the cellist who toured with Michael Card a few years ago. Whether perceived as lowbrow classical, or highbrow praise and worship this is a very soothing album with a tangible contemplative quality.
