Tooth & Nail do a good job signing up the kind of ferocious alternative rock acts that Nashville seem to ignore. For lovers of brain numbing hard music or simple straight ahead passionate rock'n'roll, this is good news! Latest signing Dogwood fall into the latter category with short, snappy, punchy, anthemic post grunge rock that hits home with every power chord and pounding drum. Searching songs that offer questions and hope, despair and redemption all neatly packed together into a heavy onslaught of the senses. This is fine, well conceived rock music designed to provoke. Standouts include the frantic "Mycro", the immediacy of "The Good Times" and the false opening of "The Battle Of Them Vs Them" where just for a second you're fooled into thinking they might mellow for one song.
