Like 'International 25 Favourite Old-Time Gospel Songs Vol 1', Volume 2 is identical in concept and sound - 25 oldies plucked from the hymnal (though I would emphasise here a very American hymnal) and given a vocal treatment that would have sounded corny during the era of the Black & White Minstrels. Florid arrangements, blander-than-bland vocals, these renditions do the old hymns no favours.
