Don Moen has made his share of great albums down the years, 'Give Thanks' is an easy listening classic but this Christmas album has little appeal and seems as tired and unimaginative as the fifth Christmas package of socks. Maybe it needed Don to produce it rather than leaving the duties to Steven V Taylor, maybe they shouldn't have let the choir (from Nashville's First Church Of The Nazarene) dominate the musical proceedings, maybe they should have worked harder than simply jamming worship songs and over-exposed carols together in lumpen medleys but whatever the mistakes in its conception the resulting album is dull and formulaic.
