A simple enough idea - take 20 of the What So & So Says interviews that down the years have been one of the most intriguing regular features in Doug's long established Christian hard music magazine, HM, and bang them together in a book. No doubt Rock Stars On God will sell well, as alongside the two or three Christian rock acts like Alice Cooper we've got a much bigger list of bands like Green Day, Nickleback, Godsmack, Henry Rollins, Drowning Pool, Rage Against The Machine and Jethro Tull talking about their music and, during the latter part of the interview where Doug lets the cat out of the bag and comes on with the God talk, their thoughts on Jesus, the Bible and salvation. In truth, most of the muso's thoughts are both predictable and vary from the incoherent to the mildly blasphemous. But I suppose as a template to guide future would-be-music journos to spring unexpected spiritual questions on unsuspecting music celebs this might have value.
