This is the third and final DVD in 'The Essentials Of Worship' teaching series from the renowned American author, pastor and songwriter. Designed for church leadership as its main audience, this instalment tackles what it means to pursue worship in line with the Scriptures. Split into four sections, the avuncular Hayford expounds Old and New Testament principles to give sound biblical teaching on his chosen subject matter. During the hour long presentation, the viewer is reminded that true worship goes beyond the confines of purely the musical element of praise and there is fittingly minimal discussion around the technicalities of playing music. Instead, Hayford chooses to take the higher ground and explains that a reliance on the Holy Spirit is needed if the individual and the Church are to engage with the focus of their worship. Unfortunately, it is easy to lose concentration due to the singular means of presentation - Hayford talking to the camera aided only by a barely legible flip chart - and additional elements such graphics and summaries would have aided this release no end. Nonetheless, this is a fascinating piece of biblical teaching by a man very familiar with the Word of God. An accompanying CD-ROM is included which contains audio versions and printable handouts for each lesson.
