Apparently the goal of this CD is to "reach one million fathers and sons all over the world." A commendable concept, particularly as this album clearly comes from a heart wanting to build relationship between sons and fathers though I have to say that, in my opinion, the CD isn't nearly strong enough to achieve such a goal. Dwayne McMillan is a top rate guitarist who has worked with people like Darlene McCoy and Bishop T D Jakes. I would suggest though that he is less gifted as a producer. The opening track features a recitation of how special relationship is between father and son over the sound of crashing waves and then goes into a dull instrumental version of "Yes Jesus Loves Me". There are a few good moments, Dwayne's father Marshall McMillan has the gnarled voice of a gospel veteran which he uses effectively on an old school "Run On". But even here poor drum programming lets the song down while the patriarch's version of "Softly And Tenderly" is simply TOO slow. Dwayne plays some excellent guitar on a languid version of "The Lord's Prayer" but the first single chosen from the project features rather a nasal vocal by Kelli J Ellis and anyway seems to be a rather confusing choice considering the father and son concept. All in all, a big disappointment.

We love criticism and we take the good with the bad. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to listen to our music. The offical CD release celebration was a blast! See a small sample for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKVKo_uyk6E. In, addition we are working on a music video for "A Song for You" which is a love song to the Lord and helps bring versatility to the project! God Bless!

I thought this was an excellent project. I listen to it all the time. I like it's versatility of old and new school music! What a great buy!
