With a slight change in line up, a new record company and a shift in style this could quite easily be viewed as a debut release by this Atlanta-based band. Echoing Angels are a five piece rock outfit who add a Southern vibe to the 11 tracks on offer here. Opening with the foot stomping, groove laden "Say What You Believe", Echoing Angels have a potential radio hit that offers much promise for the rest of the release. Unfortunately these heights are rarely reached again, except for the funky "Burnin' Through The City". Comparisons will be drawn to both Third Day and Needtobreathe, particularly in rootsy "Leaving Here" but the overall sound is just a little too middle of the road and dated to challenge the place of the CCM best sellers. There is nothing particularly wrong with the release which is well packaged and polished, with lyrics that avoid too many clichés while musicianship is good and tight. But at times I found the keys and horn sections a little overdone and 'Echoing Angels' is simply too stereotyped to really register.

Product Description

The five southern-charmed boys that comprise Echoing Angels - Shannon Cochran, Jon “JP” Poole, Trey Heffinger, Neil Tankersley, and Josh LeBlanc – grew up in the south with a wide range of influences.

They have each embraced their roots to create their own distinctive sound of southern rock/pop and hearty dose of soul to create their brand new self-titled project with eOne Music and produced by Calvin Turner (Marc Broussard, Jimmy Needham).
