Eileen is a white girl from Columbus, Ohio, and this album is a live show recorded at the historic Garden Theater in Columbus on 14th April 2012. Eileen brings her acting experience to the fore to create an entertaining show. The links are light - if a little risqué for some - and a number of the songs show Eileen's sense of humour, such as "Built For Comfort", "Frim Fram Sauce" and "He Really Makes It Hard". As a blues showcase there is no hint of spiritual matters and almost nothing in the way of hope either - it would not be the blues if it had hope now, would it? While the arrangements are fine, as is the musicianship, the album suffers the usual issues of live albums - you really have to be there to appreciate the performance properly. This comes out most in "Fever" which somehow just does not do the Little Willie John/Peggy Lee song justice. Do not be put off by this, 'Blues In The Green Room' is a good album worth listening to.
