Elation is a worship trio from Leicestershire, consisting of worship leaders Ben Williams and Dan Harris, along with music engineer Joe Gilliver. For this six-track mini-disc they've teamed up with Feed The Hungry UK to help in bringing hope to a starving world. For the cost of just one EP, a child can be fed for an entire month, or it can provide over 100 meals for children in poverty stricken countries. The band's music consists of five self-composed worship songs (one is repeated as a live recording). These are thoughtful songs - the opening cut expressing the importance that "my worship not just be words, my heart song not just be peace". Worship according to these guys is a life so devoted to God that it results in real Christian service. Ponderous songs of Christ-exaltation rather than upbeat anthems, lyrics focus on both the majesty of God and Christ's sacrifice for us, and what that means. "Father God" is a beautiful acoustic piece, in the form of a prayer seeking freedom for oppressed people throughout the world. A fine recording in aid of a terrific cause.
