Over the years there have been several acts using the nome-de-disc Emmanuel. In this case it is the first name of Emmanuel Waldron, a London-based artist who popped up a few years ago with a solo-piano album, 'Portrait Of A Journey', and now returns with another instrumental set. And pretty good it is too. Featuring both jazzy and tender pieces, it showcases a musician with a deft and creative touch with the ability to really lift melodies out over gorgeously soft chordal bass notes. On this album he combines rhythmic pieces, such as "Crazy Moments" and "Fly On The Wall", with much softer and more emotional ones like "Never Forgotten" and the title track. Overall this is a very pleasant album which works both as an aid to meditation or, dare I say it, superior background music.
