At first, the concept of this album seems like a very good one – gather together the essential Christian songs that everyone should own. In reality it is hard to see where the market for this CD lies as nearly all the featured songs can be found on other similar albums that fill the shops. It does however contain some brilliant songs – "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" by Martin Smith, "El Shaddai" by Michael Card and "Speechless" by Steven Curtis Chapman to name but three. But the production by Chris Norton is anonymous and the British and American session singers are competent rather than inspiring. All in all, hardly essential.
