Album debut from an American band who have a nice gutsy lead singer, one Brad Miles, and whose accompanying band members are really put through their paces by producers F Reid Shippen and Todd Collins. The problem from a reviewer’s perspective for albums as avowedly generic as this one is that one has precious little time to gauge whether it contains a couple of smash hit songs that when played constantly on the radio will get Joe Punter elevating Everman from the pile. I’d say that despite the decidedly pleasing sound of the acoustic-and-strings arrangement of “Providence” and the snappy pop rock drive of “Still Waiting” this isn’t a smash CCM album. But if by the time you read this this is sitting atop one of America’s Christian music charts I’ll be back listening again trying to figure out what I missed.
